Un peregrinar a través de las dúctiles palabras de la autora, no solo a miles de kilometros de distancia hasta llegar al origen de su estirpe sino ahondando en los recuerdos de su niñez felíz en el Macondo propio de su terruño, esculpiendo con un bisturí afilado las personalidades y los temperamentos de quienes la criaron hasta llegar a ser lo que es: porfiada en sus empeños,independiente de ataduras convcencionales, mujer felíz.Escribe al ritmo caribe y su memoria algunas veces la enmaraña en las trampas de la nostalgia recordando eventos bajo la influencia del deseo. Es un libro deliciosamente fácil de leer y evocador de un tiempo ido,Y sobre todo de apreciada lectura para quienes de un modo u otro pertenecemos a aquellos cuyos antepasados vinieron de otros lugares del mundo
