Book 2 will make it all better.

If you are looking for a HEA, this is not the book for you. It is well-written and follows canon, to a point. It is that point that makes this one of the saddest tales out there. Hopefully, Book 2 will make it all better.

Oh the drama!

Honestly, I'm torn by this book. No doubt, it's well-written and entertaining; however, Mr. Darcy is not my favorite Darcy. I'm waiting for book two to completely judge him. I understand why he was written all angst, but I tend to like my Darcy a little more... together. Then again, if he was written like a typical Mr. Darcy the book wouldn't be as good as it is.
The story is clever and full of melodrama. I am looking forward to the next book and looking forward to more books by the author, Carolyn Whyte.

I was not sure about this one after reading the book description. It really doesn't appeal to me to have Elizabeth attached to someone other than Darcy but ....... it really works here. I throughly enjoyed this creative twist to my favorite classic. Richard has long been the most interesting secondary character to me and I was happy for his good fortune. The ending literally brought me to tears which is unusual for me.
The only negative is waiting for the second in the series. I seldom read series without all being complete and one can't possibly imagine where the book is going from here.
